Who is Galvanise?
About Me
I have built a career at the intersection of elite endurance sport, rehabilitation, and high-level practical experience. Alongside full-time work and single parenthood, I competed internationally across running, duathlon and triathlon, achieving:
2:35:51 Olympic Marathon Qualifying Time – London Marathon, 2004
3rd UKA / England Athletics – London Marathon, 2003
Top-10 Elite Field finishes in major half-Ironman events (Monaco, Switzerland, World 70.3 Championships)
Podium finishes at World and European Duathlon Championships
Self-supported expeditions including cycling to Athens (2019) and across the Americas (2022 and 2024)
Across my sporting life, I have undergone twelve surgeries, including a knee replacement, which significantly influenced my understanding of rehabilitation and long-term athlete care.
I am a qualified sports and remedial massage therapist (NVQ Level 5, London School of Sports Massage – 2008) with extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, injury prevention and rehabilitation. Additional qualifications include:
NVQ Level 5, London School of Sports Massage – 2008
ISAK Anthropometry Level 1 – 2025
British Athletics Athlete to Coach Level 3 – 2025
Breeze Academy Acupuncture & Dry Needling Level 1 – 2025
I integrate this technical background with experience from a prior career in teaching and business consulting, giving me strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to support athletes and clients in a structured, informed and adaptable way.
My clinical work is driven by a clear purpose: to ensure every person leaves feeling better than when they arrived and to support long-term, achievable progress through short-term, actionable improvements.
I continue to train flexibly for the demands of different endurance activities and to apply the same principles of adaptability, resilience and resourcefulness that have defined my own athletic career.
