“Because of Michelle Lee and her bionic knee and inspirational adventures of her own, she has fixed me, listened to me, and advised me on how to achieve my goals.”
Having had an issue with my back in 2016, which was put down to recurring sciatica and continued to get worse over the years with flare-ups. My overall health declined, the problem became worse, exercise became walking at best, and cycling a luxury, something which happened when I was young.
Following hospital appointments and an eventual admission, an MRI discovered two cysts within my spine and had been pressing upon nerves in my back, causing nerve damage to my right leg and forearm. When sent home from hospital on a walking stick, I was invited to a period of physio at a gym to regain some strength and the advice that I would never recover fully and in a twelve-month period I would be as good as I would ever be. That was some eight years ago and was a very bitter pill to swallow.
Then along came Covid and Lockdown, and I started to do a Jo Wicks workout every morning followed by a turbo session and later on a walk with the dogs. I lost weight and began to feel fitter, but the nerve pain remained and still caused me some issues. During Covid, I also went back to self-employment selling and installing floors, which is very hard on the body, and I sometimes questioned my rationale in doing so. But I continued to build some strength but still with a lot of nerve pain and odd sensations in my right side. I was, however, getting on a bike more and every ride was a struggle and a battle from start to finish.
I knew of Michelle through cycling and mutual friends, and when I saw her post on Facebook asking for volunteers, I thought I would give it a go and see if I could improve any further.
The results have been mind-blowing. I now have sensation back in my right leg and hand. My overall movement has improved. It has given me an overall lift in self-confidence. I have ridden my bike a lot more. I’ve lost weight, and I have made plans to ride my bike more. At the age of 53, I believed fun and adventure had passed me by. Through Michelle’s knowledge and belief, that isn’t the case, and this May I am riding my gravel bike from John O’Groats to Lands’ End and camping all the way, something I wanted to do for the last 15 years since losing my Dad, which I thought would never happen.
Because of Michelle Lee and her bionic knee and inspirational adventures of her own, she has fixed me, listened to me, and advised me on how to achieve these goals.
Forever grateful and indebted to Michelle and Galvanise.

"If you want someone who understands athletes, truly cares about her clients, and will push you to achieve things you didn’t think were possible, SHES THE ONE!"
Description goes hereI honestly cannot recommend Michelle enough. Not only is she incredibly skilled in massage, injury and pain resolution, rehab, her Level -Up programme, strength & conditioning using data-driven progress tracking and body composition analysis, but Michelle ‘s background as a Triathlete and semi- pro runner gives her a level of understanding that you just can’t teach!
Michelle truly knows what it feels like to be injured, frustrated, and desperate to get back to doing what you love, and the empathy shines through in every treatment session. Michelle hasn’t just treated my injuries, she’s fixed them. Every time I’ve walked in feeling broken or negative, I’ve walked out feeling stronger, more hopeful with a clear plan going forward! Her knowledge of the mechanics of the body, recovery and performance is outstanding, but it’s her genuine passion and love for helping people that makes her so special. She doesn’t just treat symptoms but will get to the root of the problem and supports you all the way.
Michelle is now coaching me towards Ironman Wales, something I once thought was impossible. Following Breast Cancer and a mastectomy, I made the decision that the big C would be history, and would challenge myself to become as fit and healthy as I possibly can. Michelle has been a huge part of that journey. She inspires me constantly with her expertise, her belief in me, and her relentless encouragement. If you want someone who understands athletes, truly cares about her clients, and will push you to achieve things you didn’t think were possible…….SHES THE ONE! I’m stronger because of her and more confident because of her, I’m so grateful to have her by my side on this huge challenge and Journey!
